Tiny Haus

I think I need to have lunch with the woman behind Tiny Haus someday because, ironically, she also lives in Seattle. Hi, Tiny Haus...meet Kids Haus. Tiny Haus makes quirky and adorable plushies that have personality -- I love them. The little guy on the left is Leo the Lambs Wool Llama. Leo is a very funny guy and loves entertaining. He hopes to one day be an acrobat, if he can overcome his clumsiness! He's the perfect companion and a loyal friend. The little group of bears on the right is the Cranberry Bear family and they came from a cranberry Mohair sweater. There are only 5 from in the tribe and only 4 available for sale. Cute...

Talisman Knit Necklace

I love it when I find something unexpected like these whimsical Talisman necklaces by the unique company, Redspottedpurple. The name "Talisman" means it will bring you good luck. You can collect tiny (lucky) treasures and button them up in the 100% alpaca wool pouches hand knitted by Turkish farmers (EKO certified).

Eco Tot Tuffet

I'm particularly drawn to kids' furniture that has duel purposes (especially when it involves hiding toys) just like these fancy little "tuffets" that are actually an ottoman and toy storage unit all in one. The Eco Tot Tuffet is made from 100% recycled or compostable materials that are also completely recyclable and has concealed casters for easy mobility.

Carton Chic

The French company, Carton Chic, is certainly living up to its name. Do you recall turning cardboard boxes into an imaginary escape as a child? The possibilities were limitless. I remember making a spaceship, a house, a refrigerator...you name it. That's why I was immediately crazy about Armelle's fresh take on cardboard creativity. These cardboard pieces are reminiscent of the classic puppet theatre but instead it's a TV on one side and a kitchen on the other...fun!

Introducing: Hazel Wood Children

Today was one of those days where I was a little uncertain of what I was going to write about. I had a few things up my sleeve but nothing that felt very compelling. That was, until I checked my inbox and found a lovely email from Jennifer of Hazel Wood Children, a new online children's store that's quite compelling and worth celebrating. Jennifer has pooled together a unique range of designers, small businesses, artists and craftsmen with an overarching philosophy of environmental consciousness (yes, including lots of organic products!). You will discover things that you have probably never seen before (I certainly did) and find items exclusively made for Hazel Wood -- note the adorable coats pictured below. Great products and great philosophy, this is my kind of store! Thanks Jennifer.

K Studio Pillows

K Studios is a mother and daughter team that creates quirky and endearing pillows made from sustainable materials such as hemp, organic cotton and recycled wool. The production is made in-house and managed by Mary and Shelly Klein. It's hard to resist buying a couple of these pillows especially knowing who's behind each creation and knowing that they're supporting sustainable living. Their range of pillows can be found at Design Public.
