Bento Box

I was in the Habitat store in London a few years ago and I recall seeing a beautiful and lonely little bento box on the sale table from across the room. As my eyes locked in and I moved, in what seemed like slow motion, toward the shiny yellow bento box, a woman snapped it up in her arms without hesitation. You can believe I kept my eye on her to make sure she wasn't going to put it back...and she never did, unfortunately. It was one of those silly things that I've not forgotten. I think I may have to consider these adorable Little Bento Boxes instead. Mind you, they're very tiny, but would be great for snacks. I love the idea of sealing everything up in one handy stack that can travel easily. The pretty colors remind me of popsicles...

Off to Europe

Well...in 2 days, our little family is off to Europe for a bit over 3 weeks. It all started as a pipe dream a couple of years ago when my husband and I were convinced that 2008 was going to be the year that we would spend an entire summer in Europe...then it was whittled to 6 weeks, then a month and now it's a bit over 3 weeks in the spring. Heck, we're just surprised and excited that we're going at all.We all know how weak the American dollar is. We'll be trekking through Amsterdam, Copenhagen and then to the south of Spain where my husband's sister lives. I've been to Amsterdam several times and am already craving the chocolate from Pompadour, the frites and most of all the bike riding with our girls. It's Copenhagen that I've never seen so I would LOVE any recommendations for family-friendly restaurants, pastry shops, activities (Tivoli!) and for my own personal cravings...some great design-worthy shops. I have a deep appreciation for textiles, etc. Send any ideas or personal anecdotes my way...please! So, yes...this is a heads-up that I will not be blogging at my normal capacity. I may find the time to add a post here and there but I can't promise anything at this point...this is all about family immersion! However, I've just set up my KidsHaus flickr account so that i can upload and share photos of our travels so you can peek into our adventures (nothing there yet). For now, wish us luck and I will be refreshed and ready to resume blogging on May 12. The photos below were taken in Amsterdam in 2004 when Ms. Bean was only 2...

Loom Zoom Kit

I'm a huge fan of Loom because they've really paid attention to the little details --  incredibly important when you're a mom on the go. (I personally own the Bandicoot diaper bag and have been pleased with everything about it). Anyhow, the Loom ZOOM Kit is a fancy little design that has got so many details that I couldn't possibly think of anything more. A handle that clips onto strollers, detachable porthole pouch, large external pocket with a matching changing pad, pocket for bottles or sippy cups and a carabiner key, card and cash organizer. AND it's cute!

Apple Blossom Baby

Kwan from Apple Blossom Baby sent me a link to her Etsy shop. She's a mother, physician and makes these beautifully handmade balls and crayon caddies in her free time. They would also make great gifts.

Delta Baby Travel 2in1

Speaking of convertible design, the Delta Baby Travel 2in1 is absolute genius! A diaper/accessory bag that unfolds to reveal a baby bed for traveling?! I'm speechless...
